What is the quality of electronics on Chinese shopping websites?

My gaming keyboard broke recently, and I found a really good one on a Chinese shopping website. I wanted to buy it because it was cheaper than it would be in the US, but my boyfriend said I shouldn't buy electronics from Chinese online stores. He said they wouldn't last long. Is he right? Are Chinese electronics of lower quality?

In general, cheap Chinese products from unknown brands that haven't made it to US markets are often of lower quality. However, if you don't settle for the absolute cheapest product then you can often get a good, high-quality product from an up-and-coming brand that's still cheaper than competitors. It's best to research each product yourself.
