How do I know if a seller on AliExpress is trustworthy and reliable ?

Hello.
I recently discovered AliExpress, and I would like to buy some things from the website. I don't have much experience with online stores (I'm still figuring out Facebook), since I'm in my 60s, and quite frankly, some things are just too complicated for my old brain. I guess that's also why my daughter told me to be careful. Apparently, people often get scammed and lose their money. 
So, how do I shop safely? How do I know if a seller is fake? What are the chances of getting scammed on AliExpress anyway?

AliExpress has a review system where buyers leave reviews for products they bought from specific sellers. You can read those reviews to see if a seller is a scammer or not since reviewers will usually state that. Also, sellers who have sold many products over a long time period are also more trustworthy.
